About Nicky Bourke

I’m a self-taught intuitive artist with a love of colour, flowers, gardens and the landscapes around me. My work begins by hand — through painting, paper, texture and experimentation — and grows from instinct rather than rigid rules.

I’m especially drawn to expressive florals, hydrangeas, roses, wildflowers and coastal-inspired pieces. I love creating artwork that brings colour, warmth and a little joy into everyday life.

For me, art is personal. I paint from my heart, creating pieces that feel joyful, thoughtful and full of life. Some remain as original artworks, while others are carefully transformed into cards, stationery, home décor and gifts so they can be enjoyed and shared in different ways.

Waikanae Paper Artist is the home of my creative work. Selected original artworks and physical pieces are available directly through this website, while many of my designs are also professionally printed to order through Zazzle for customers around the world.
